About the event
Frankie in Conversation with Professor David Booth Marine Ecology, UTS
Join us for a lively evening where art meets science and curiosity leads the way. Frankie will chat with Professor David Booth, one of Australia’s leading marine ecologists, about the mysterious and beautiful weedy sea dragons.
The conversation began when Frankie stumbled upon a washed-up sea dragon on Manly Beach and connected with David and his collaborator, Gigi Beretta. Since then, they’ve inspired everyday beachcombers to play their part as citizen scientists, contributing to vital research on these enchanting creatures.
On the night, they’ll dive into the story behind the April 2022 mass wash-up, explore the algal bloom in South Australia, and uncover what these events tell us about the changing health of our oceans.
